ECRIN (www.ecrin.org) will celebrate that it is 263 years since James Lind launched his controlled clinical trial in 1747 (www.jameslindlibrary.org)
On May 20, 2010, ECRIN will organize the International Clinical Trials Day in Stockholm, Sweden, to commemorate the study which is considered the first randomized clinical trial in history conducted by Dr. James Lind (citrus fruits to cure scurvy). This was path-breaking in the establishment of priciples for fair tests of treatments.
EMTRAIN will use this opportunity to network with participating stakeholders and to disseminate information about EMTRAIN as well as IMI JU E&T initiatives in general.
